Benefits of statin therapy in stroke prevention outweigh the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage

Though the use of lipid-lowering therapies such as statins has been previously associated with increased risk of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), researchers have found that the benefits of statin therapy in the primary and secondary prevention of ischemic stroke far outweigh ICH risk.
